The West Warwick RiverWalkWith a long weekend I was able to get in a walk at the West Warwick Riverwalk along the Royal Mills today. The mills were originally built in 1890 and filled with a lot of history and was one of the world's busiest hydro-powered cotton mills for over 30 years. Many mills like this one have been turned into condo units.
It had not been kept us since the great floods of 2010 in Rhode Island.
And you could not finish the path, either.
Such a shame for the community that lives at the Royal Mills not being able to walk along the entire path or the townspeople who came to walk daily.
Will they be able to repair the damages the massive floods of 2010 did to this riverwalk? (This last link is a video of the flooding when it happened about a mile from the riverwalk.)
Update: August 2, 2014 - I've been contacted by the West Warwick Jaycees that a group is forming called "Friends of the Arboretum and Riverwalk". Contact me for more information.
